We had to write a poem of one of our family treditions. we could write a limerick, hiakue and 2 others. As you can see I have writen a limerick. My poem is rimeing but not every poem has to rime to be one. As you know from the poem I go on holiday every christmas or boxing day.

so  so  so  so  so  so  fun! top team is a big group of people that come to your school and set up lots of cool activitys. it was a very hot day so my favroit was the water pipe and when you had to pure a basket of water over your head to the other person and try to get it to the big barsket.

Tough kids

In term 4 we went to tough kids. It was very fun and there were lots of activitys.

tough kids is every 4 years so if you are year 1 you will only go 2 times in your life unlease you work there/volinteering. if you are year one you will go when you are year 4 and year 8.

I think that it was very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very fun! what you do is you run around a obstickle course but it is not a race and you do lots of fun activitys! my favroite was walking is the calm wavless rocky ocen!

Sport reflection

Today we had our last sport rotation. We had courf-ball. I like sport rotations but not so much today

because it was very hot. I like sport because I try to keep fit thoe I can't run as fast as others in the

hub or even hombass but I am thankfull for the teachers seting this up so that we can have fun and

stay fit. We have also played 2 games of cricket, coarf-ball too, and we played 1 game of softball.

Sports is not my favroit thing but it keep me fit so I take it. fitness is not all ways fun but the thought

and the end resolt is so amazing an it keeps you doing fitness because you love the end resolt.

Camp refletion

In term 4, week 3 the kaupeka hub went on camp to wainui YMCA school camp and we stayed in powel village.  I think that I communicate well in search and rescue because I was talking about where the injured and lost victim may be and where we should look first. I even talked to the other team using the radio which is similar to a walky talky. I think that I was critically thinking in Breakout EDU because we needed to find clues and the key and we needed to unlock the padlocks and other locked things attached to the big box and I along with my team were searching for clues and solving challenging math questions. I think that I showed character when I went to archery because I was listening very well and I helped others when they needed it. I also was being careful and not pointing the arrow at any one. I think that I was being creative at raft building because I was thinking of different ways to get the raft to float like where we should tye the not and where to place the barrels that get it to float in the water. I found it challenging when we had to wake up early every morning. I am great full for going to camp in the first place. I learnt what different parts of the bow in archery.

P.B.L Term 4

This terms PBL driving question is How can I celebrate who I am ?
We have to make a music video, a food recipe and some more stuff and you get given a country that is pulled out of a hat and you have to show them how to show people how to do a  tradition that that the country you are given does or something that they love to do . I got south Africa and I am still working on finding a tradition . We also have to find a recipe from that country and we have to make it .

For my PBL main artifact I am doing wearable arts which means that I have to paint or draw on a plane white T-shirt and pants on stuff that make me who I am, say if I loved to play rugby like I do
I would draw it on the T-shirt or the pants and I would draw lots of my hobbies and traditions (what makes me, me) on the cloths and I would where them on our production day .
I am not from south Africa but I think that it would be cool if is was I would love it .

Volentering !

This week we went volentering for the chch city councily .

I and some others were painting over grafity round a spacific area !

I think it was fun but very tireing .

We hade help from Mrs Rouny and Kayla's dad .

The council had to do more importent jobs before this so we ( Kuapeka ) volentered !

We got given drink bottles for helping and choclate blocks from food bank .

It was a very short version of THE LION WITCH AND THE WARDROBE .

I think it was a good short story and it was well done and it was very detailed for such a short version of a long story !

My science project

We have been doing some science experiments .
For my science I have been doing Heart Rate . Here is some of my calculations .

Harry had done a 3 min walk, star jumps, sit ups and a 3 min sprint .
after each exercise his heart rate was tested, and up there are the answers 🠉 !

At school we are doing a maths task from Stanford University .

We have been doing it since the start of the year, I think it is fun and very useful .

I am have all most finished it . 

Did you know that even just a few minutes a day of doing the Stanford maths task it 

affects your brain so well .

when you have the choice of doing a hard or a easy maths problem you 

should always choose the hard one because if you make mistakes it helps your brain grow way faster then doing something you all ready no and it is all so scientifically proven .

This Term our main question is ...

WHAT WILL THE FUTURE ASK OF US ?

We have been talking about ROBOTS and how they could take over our jobs .

We have also been talking about, what skills we will need in the future and what skills do we have that

robots don't .

I think we do  maths maths better than robots because we don't all ways cheat because

robots use calculator and maths websites to give them the answer but we ( Humans ) work it out pro-ply .

we will to have a engineering skill to event robots in the future .

well we have just had our live for a day / showcase . 

it was great ! I had done myn live to all the schools in nz !

that was only in the afternoon at night we went live to the pearents !

Teacher strike day !

Teachers have strike day so they can get more money for the hard work they do !

It's not all about the money tho its also so they get more time to work with us !

I think the teachers deserve more money and time off then you may think because they do allot of

Prediction: I think it is about buttons and what they were going to do with theme, like

If they were going to make something with theme, like out of theme .

Statement confirming prediction: I was wrong because they sale them  to
raise money for the Jewish community .

2. Make two more predictions based off the pictures or charts in the text

E.g. From looking at the picture on the 4th page of the girl holding the doll I predict this will be
about ……. because …….

Prediction: in the picture with the girl holding the doll I think she is going somewhere away
from her home and by the look on her face she looks like she is going very far away and that
she is leaving her family .

Statement confirming prediction: I think I was right because she had gone to a orphanage
because her family was living in fear of getting captured, her father was sent to a laper camp
and her mother was getting sent to a concentration camp so her mother had no choice but to
send her to a jewish orphanage .

Prediction: on the picture with the map on it I think it is
something to do with different types of buttons in different places where people can collect
theme, and on the second page with the pile of suitcases I think they have buttons in theme .

I had a fun time, it was hard work but I got their !

We had to do 3 laps around Walter park, near school !

Our main question for .P.B.L. this term is ...
How can we speak up against discrimination ?

We have a choice of making a speech, screencastify or ted talk / video of discrimination .
We have a choice of writing about sexism, people being racist, ageism and other stuff like that.

When you pick one you have to talk about what you think it is
and how you think you can stop it, like you can give some suggestions .

When you start to make your project you must add ...
Intro ( with .P.B.L. question ), your main point and conclusion and how you can stop it !

Swimming lesson's !

Swimming lesson's were so fun, I in joyed it so much !
We had them at ''QE11'' yep I no a really cool pool / pool's !
I needed to practise my freestyle and my diving !
We go on the bus their and then we get changed and sit down near the pools, we wait for I'm pretty
shore 10 mins then we jump in the pool with our instructor .
We have year 1 and 2 buddy's for the bus and for making shore they have all their
Stuff with them !
After swimming lessons we get picked up by the bus and we go back to
school !

Digi awards ! - 2019 !

This is my invite, I sent it to my mum and step dad !
The Digi awards are when we showcase our digital projects !
It took us about 4 or so weeks to make make our projects, it was so fun making
theme I hope we get to do something similar again !

Anne Frank !

Hello my name's Lexus, I am going to explain why I think Anne Frank is great !

Anne Frank is great because she survived the war with the Nan, but eventually she got court and got taken to a consecration camp.

At the  consecration camp the Nancy's tricked the people in the consecration camp ( including Anne ) that they were having a normal shower, with water, but really the Nancy's filled the water tanks with gas that would kill the people ( including Anne ) .

When they had a shower they all got killed ( including Anne ) .

Personally I think surviving the world war is a talent !

She hid behind a bookshelf and survived most of war !,

Here are some good qualities! She has courage

And Patience.

She lived with the same people for three whole years, never being able to leave she had also

written lots of diary

And they are now in museums !

Biography !

This week I have been working on my biography !
My biography was on Anne Frank, do you know who Anne Frank is ?
She survived most of the war but eventually she got court and got taken to a concentration camp !
She got killed in the concentration camp, by talking a shower but the Nancy's filled the water tanks with gas that toke 45 mins of choking then death !

we went to swimming sports, it was so fun and awesome, next time 

i'm going to swim 50 meters !, have to practise way more :( anyway

I had two races both 25 meters ! one back stroke and one freestyle ! woohoo its my race  it was so fun !
