Writing W2 T3.

For writing this week we had written a short story on Hansel and Gretel, here is my work...

It was dark, the ground was cold and slimy. Hansel and Gretel creeped through the depressing, dark, endless woods where the trees were damp and deadly. A rich scent of fresh, melted chocolate travelled past them as their mouths started to water. Hansel and Gretel decided to follow the sweet fragrance of candy. They paused as they waited nervously and silently until they made sure it was safe to carry on. The scent of delicious gingerbread is getting stronger, Hansel and Gretel fell deeply in love with the fragrance and lingered behind it. It was getting cold and dark. The two children keeped walking for ages. They became tired of lingering around and finally found a giant, freshly baked, gingerbread house.  All of a sudden, in the clearing, they detected a small house with a shiny, chocolate  roof, a long chimney and the selves of the windows were cream white where the windows were dark and dusty They knew they shouldn't touch the little house, however  sweet fruity candy canes lowered them closer. They knew they might get in trouble but the fresh scent of a chocolate caramel roof looked so delicious. “I’m nervous about this place”, whispered Gretel. “Don’t worry it will alright”, even though he knew their mother wanted them gone.

Without warning, a little, old, friendly lady appeared. She had a cheerful, gentle smile. Her hair was old and grey and she wore lots of bright colours.  “Come inside”, the little old lady said softly and welcomingly. Her voice was old but calming. She opened the creamy door with candy canes on the side. She squinted at the children as they walked inside. For she had short vision. “You may eat all of what you like”, she said in a cheeky voice. The house was made with delicious gingerbread, with all sorts of sugary treats, the house has a fresh, chocolatey scent to it. “So children, why are here?”, “We had gotten kicked out of our home because our mother and father were poor so we began to linger behind the delicious fragrance of your house”, Hansel and Gretel went on. The old lady grinds. The two children look around when, suddenly, the old lady grabs Hansel and locks him in a cage, just when Gretel tries to help save Hansel the woman locks a chain on Gretel while passing her a broom. Gretel had been forced to clean the house while Hansel was passest a mountain of sweets to fatten him up, but what this witch did not know was that the two children were tricking her by holding out a skinny bone each time she came to check on him so she thought he was not fattening up.
